Google Analytics can be a bit of a whirlwind to get your head around.

I commonly hear people say:

“I know I need to use it, but I don’t really know how?”

“I don’t even know what I would do with this data?”

In the spirit of keeping it simple, if you want to know how your business is performing online, you need to pay attention to analytics.

Otherwise, how can you improve your business online if you don’t have anything to compare it against.

What might surprise you to hear is that I’m actually not a huge fan of Google Analytics (GA).

I use the data within GA but I prefer to use a combination of Google Data Studio and Tag Manager to build custom dashboards.

Dashboards that are easy to use, visually appealing and I enjoy looking at, without my brain hurting.

There’s also a lot more we can track and see in one place.

Imagine knowing the a) Number of people visiting you online; b) Subscribing to emails and c) Buying all from one place. And that’s just one small part of what’s possible.

Neil put this video together to give you an overview of a dashboard and the metrics you can track and use to make positive improvements.

Knowing your numbers and using them to make multiple 1% tweaks to your campaign can make a big impact.

Let’s start making data driven choices!
